Types of Gifts Donated to Redstone
Our tradition at Redstone goes on… and your gifts help make that possible.
As a non-profit, Redstone is able to accomplish it’s mission through the many gifts of support received. Below, you will find outlined the many ways that your support can make a difference at Redstone.
Annual Giving: Click to Give
Through gifts to our Annual fund, donors support Redstone in a variety of ways. You may designate whether you wish your gift to support Benevolent Care for residents who have outlived their resources, the Hospice Fund, our Employee Support Programs, or simply the Area of Greatest Need. In the spring and prior to the holidays, special short-term campaigns benefit annual giving, too, with gifts represented on special trees in the campus lobbies. Our spring campaign is currently in process. Click here to participate. Gifts may be made in honor or in memory and are acknowledged on the Redstone campus of choice.
Memorial Gifts: Click to Give
A memorial gift is a meaningful way to commemorate someone special, to honor the memory of a beloved family member or friend, or show support for the bereaved. Memorial gifts may be made online or by using one of the special envelopes available at the reception areas at Redstone. Residents are encouraged to discuss the possibility of memorial gifts to Redstone with their family members as part of their end-of-life planning.
Tribute Gifts: Click to Give
A gift made in tribute honors someone who has really made a difference…a special person you celebrate and want to recognize. Tribute gifts can be given for important occasions like birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, or for life accomplishments. Tribute gifts may also be made online or by using one of the envelopes available at the reception areas.
Highlands Fling Gifts
The Highlands Fling is our largest annual fundraiser for benevolent care. To learn more about the Fling, visit our Fling website here. Ticket sales and donations make this a very special event for Redstone.
Legacy Gifts
A legacy gift, or charitable bequest, provides a gift of money or personal property through the direction of a will or estate plan. If you wish to leave a legacy gift to the Redstone community, please contact Lisa Dormire, VP for Mission Support. She will support you in working through the process of updating your estate plan with the help of your attorney and financial advisor. In addition to bequests, some donors choose to name Redstone the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or 401k. Still, others may choose to set up a special Charitable Gift Annuity that can provide the donor with an income stream for life, tax benefit, and the satisfaction of knowing that a gift is being made at the end of life. There may be tax advantages to your estate by giving consideration to legacy giving. Legacy Gifts have provided incredible support to Redstone and we are grateful to the residents and family members who have placed such trust in us.
Staff Appreciation Gifts
Gifts to this fund say “Thank You” to our dedicated employees who provide quality care and service to our residents every day. This campaign is totally conducted by Redstone residents and the gift is distributed by residents. Traditionally, employees have received a cash gift shortly before the Christmas holiday. While Redstone upholds a firm no-tipping/no-gifting regulation required by the state of Pennsylvania, the annual staff appreciation fund is a wonderful way for residents and family members to say thank you. **Checks for the staff appreciation fund should be made out to Redstone Resident Staff Appreciation Gift and mailed c/o of Mission Support, 126 Mathews St. Greensburg PA 15601.
Appreciated Securities Gifts and Annual 401K Disbursements
With the potential for providing greater tax relief instead of giving cash, gifts of appreciated securities or annual withdrawals from a 401K make sound financial sense. If you wish to make a gift of stock to Redstone, contact your financial advisor and our VP for Mission Support Lisa Dormire for assistance.
